Last year, 2007, over 2.2 million Sydney residents and over 2,100 businesses switched off, leading to a 10.2% energy reduction across the city…
Now – I just want to know why there is a humngous concert (35,000 people expected) happening in Centennial Park (Sydney) tonight…how much power will that suck up while the rest of us enjoy an evening in candlelight? hmmm?

Oh c’mon! “Battery power on the laptop”?! That’s cheating! You will still have to charge the batteries at some point. π
I know, I know Sean – but I’ve rationalised it by ensuring that I have no appliances drawing energy from the mains… which is what they’re measuring.. the impact on the grid!
But it does kind of feel a little like cheating.. ;-(
Hi Anne, I agree with Sean, that’s cheating π However, if you’re out at a restaurant at 8pm and they don’t turn off the lights, then that’s not your faulty, really, is it? Cause that’s what I did π
Anyway, I’m looking for your RSS tag and I can’t find it. Does your page have one?
Hey Jess!
I think I was pretty good – I even turned off the frig for 1 hour! So I’m feeling rather virtuous!
The RSS feed is down the right hand column… under archives… it says Subscribe to this blog’s feed.

Thanks for that, Anne, I’ve got it all fixed up π
Turning off the fridge, huh? I wouldn’t have even thought of that. So I take back the cheating statement π
